Chayote Barrio Kitchen: Reviews & Ratings
Enjoyed a delightful date night here with husband a few weeks ago. The food was delicious and everything had a small twist in prep or flavors that made it more interesting. The cordero had the most tender lamb and rich cheesy risotto. We enjoyed several cocktails and some unique wines from the bar. The service was friendly and helpful. We were never rushed and the food arrived at a pleasant place. We were there for an early dinner and it was not too busy on a Friday night. As we were leaving about 8pm it was filling in though. I recommend a reservation. The music was a great mix and the atmosphere has a youthful and sophisticated feel. Prices were reasonable and you can spend a lot or a little depending on what you select. Looking forward to going back and enjoying the patio and happy hour next.
An outstanding meal from start to finish. The portion sizes are perfect—leaving you satisfied yet still craving more. Service was quick and proficient, and each dish was thoughtfully prepared with a beautiful fusion of flavors. The stars of the night were the ropa vieja lasagna and the croquettes.
Wow! This place has been on my radar for awhile and we finally had the time to go and celebrate a birthday with a good friend of ours. The moment we arrived it was 5 star service. The drinks were really good. My favorite dish was the ropa vieja lasagna. Highly recommend this location for a date night or fun evening with friends.
This restaurant is a MUST try! 10s across the board, from the ambience to the customer service. First a huge thank you to our server Tiana! She was amazing the whole night! It was our first time and she explained and recommended some great options. We had quite a wait for our main course and she checked in on us and apologize for the wait. She was exceptionally. For our appetizers we had the empanadas, fries with truffle oil and the choripán (the sliders) were all delicious. I can’t forget the complementary bread, it was fluffy, melted in your mouth. We ordered another which you have to pay, it was $8 and it was worth it. Drink of choice were the mocktail For our main course we had the Arroz con pollo pegaíto, Langosta and Castillo. Everything was a 10/10. well seasoned and cooked to perfection. For dessert with had the chocolate torta, it was so good moist and melted in your mouth. The ice cream was creamy with a little rum in it. I had amazing time here and I will be back very soon! Highly recommend.
Jean Pierre was great! He was excellent! Knowledgeable about the drinks, every aspect of the food menu and the mocktails! He helped make our evening more fun! The food was wonderful and pleasing to the eye. The appetizers were just enough the main dishes were filling and the dessert was just enough sweetness. The aesthetic of the restaurant was a whole vibe!
The atmosphere decor, the way the table was set and the colors chosen between plates napkins and silverware added to the theme of the restaurant. The service in the bar lounge area was phenomenal! The server at the dining table whether those of us that were seated at the table had died there before, had questions or specific dietary needs; when it came time to order, that's when he let me know what items were gluten-free. I now know what to look for on the menu and what I ordered which was an octopus dish was outstanding and flavor and presentation as well as reasonable cost. The water was impeccable that was served at the table and the specialty Margarita I had that had chili powder on half of the rim with a piece of cilantro on top of the large ice cube, was one of the most unique Beverages and flavor experience ever had. The manager Jose and the hostess Samaria went above and beyond as when I arrived, I had accidentally left my phone in the Lyft ride I took to the restaurant.
A must visit restaurant. We visited to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary (this was acknowledged verbally by hostess and waiter but nothing more). The server Alex was lovely and knows the food and cocktails inside out. The mixologist is spot on!! Ambience is wonderful. Tuna tartare was best I’ve ever eaten. My husband had the octopus starter and can’t stop talking it up! Meals: Chilean sea bass and lobster Thermidor… both were delicious. Don’t leave without trying the pistachio tres leches. Make a reservation as this place is popular. We will certainly be visiting again and not waiting for only special occasions. Dining here IS a special occasion.
Everything we ordered was beyond delicious, truly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We started with the fish taco, which was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ropa vieja lasagna was such a unique and flavorful dish, and the choripan was absolutely delicious. The croquetas were also divine, crispy on the outside, creamy and rich on the inside. Honestly, every single dish was so good! A huge shoutout to our server Jade, who made the experience even better. She was so sweet, attentive, and genuinely made us feel taken care of the entire night. She was the best! Thank you Jade!
